Cats and Stamps, cannot get enough of either of them.

I've been playing around with different folds and styles recently lots of interesting ideas on Pinterest, You Tube, challenge blogs and all sorts of other places.  One design caught my eye, the Accordion Card.  There seem to be 2 ways of making these, my card today is a bit of both of them.

This is the front of the card, I decided to go with a Cats theme because I love my cats and also because Mervi's theme this month at Allsorts is "4 Legged Friends" not entirely sure cats are friends more like managers really hahaha

For the front I used a Made to Surprise stencil, the brick wall, with DI.  The top of a tree stamp for the greenery popping over the top.  A Magazine set for the birds flying off behind the cat's back and the cat is from Stamp-it dated 2003.  (This Australian company does not appear to be active anymore.)  The cat was coloured with a warm grey Chameleon pen.

Open the card and inside you will discover this!  The background is DI inks blended over a Lisa Horton stencil but before that the ovals were cut out using an Xcut die.  The removed parts were then further die cut with a Nellie's frame die.  Each of the die cut elements was stamped, in grey, with a PSX stamp. The first little kitten is dated 2001, I decided it is a boy as the image reminds me of a rescue kitten recently fostered by an American friend who also sells craft supplies.  So Kitten No.1 remained a Grey Tabby with pink feet as Blitzen's were before his white fur came through.

Cats 2 and 3 are from the same stamp, my first PSX stamp which is dated 1999 and which is still in my less than humble opinion the best cat image available.  The first I made female with a cream colour, the second is clearly a Ginger Tom, after my sadly long gone boy Pounce.   Pounce's sister was Minx who passed last November, she was short haired but in memory of her the last little cat has been given Tortie colouring.  The edges of the inserts were given edges coloured to reflect their assigned gender.

Jewellery thread has been threaded through each insert and attached to the back of the frame.  A ribbon runs along behind the inserts and threaded under the thread to keep everything facing the right way.  The back cover has been left plain.

So not really an accordion card but a bright cheerful animal themed one.
