The other plaque

Really I should have shared this days ago but better late than never.   This is the pair to the Tando plaque blogged last week.

Both pieces were started at the same time, with the intention of using Tando Whimsical Houses on both of them.  Texture as always was in the front of my mind.

Both boards were prepared at the same time and my first use of this Modelling paste which although described as white actually dries clear.

Next the boards were painted.  Todays board was coloured with Jane Davenport inks, another first time. The colours are luscious and vibrant, they are water based and can be moved around easily but as with all watercolour when re-wetted they are reactivated something to watch.  Over the painted surface I added some torn printed tissue to give yet more texture and add another layer.

The Whimsical houses I'd chosen were also painted with the Jane Davenport inks the shapes and the colours are just right for each other.  Tissue was also used on one of the houses however when it came to trying different layouts that house just did not work.  The metallic paste covered plaque didn't look quite right with the houses either, so it was at this point the projects diverged.

Bit more tweaking of layout and some glueing the Whimsical Houses plaque was completed with some complementary ribbon.

Now it is time to share this plaque with.
