Well hello! River of Creativity is back with a new look, a reduced team and a clear objective. We want to be a welcoming place to craft and crafters of all types. To be honest we are not fans of digi stamps although we know full well they have their place in the crafting community. For me and I think my teamies it feels that with so many sites offering Digi Stamp prizes those of us who are not into cute cards with beautifully coloured images are being pushed out of blog land.
ROC aims to re-balance that slightly. We have decided not to accept entires that are cards, anything else, tags, journals, cakes, 3d art, canvases, needle craft, anything at all except a card.
We continue not to have sponsors or prizes but we will still have Shoutouts to those whose work we think deserves one. Our tastes and styles are all very different which means there will be equal opportunities for all. Our criteria is not just which entries look the best but skill level, care and effort, and enthusiasm are all important to us.
Time to crack on with our challenge then. Our theme is ANYTHING GOES (But NO Cards), with the option of SQUARE.
My project for this months challenge.
The box has been quietly waiting it's turn for years seems dents are being made in my pile of future projects. The Green Man is a resin cast using a mould from The Craft Hut, the mould was lined with Magic Mica before the resin was poured. The same Magic Mica was applied to the canvas which has been glued into the top of the box and the resin cast add on top.
Overall the box was primed inside and out with white Gesso. Gelatos in Greens, Oranges, Yellows and Red were scribble over the sides and blended with a water brush. Next the stamps, they all came for a Hobby Art set picked up at Birmingham in 2018. Archival inks in Black and Coffe were used for the stamping to get silhouettes against the colourful background.
When you check the challenge site (River of Creativity) you will see just how different our 3 styles are which hopefully will encourage you to share your vision with us.
Talking about sharing.

Head hung low, face scarlet, I'm daring to creep in and check out your post as I am totally blown away by the intricacy of that mould and the stamping scene around the edges. Well done on getting the re-vamp up and running, looks good.
