River of Creativity 13

It time for our new challenge for you at River of Creativity.   We welcome all crafts, styles and techniques so if you enjoy something a little different we would love to see.  There are no prizes ours is a Just for Fun challenge or as I like to think of it just for the joy of being creative.

We say each challenge that anything goes but have an option this time RECYCLING.

My group of crafting friends, The Claxby Crafters (Lockdowns and family life permitting we try to meet up for a couple of week-ends a year) At our gatherings quantities of gin are consumed.  If you have looked at the gin selection in the supermarkets you cannot fail to have noticed just how nice some of the bottles are.

The girls will from time to time save their empties for me giving me something to play with.  This is one such bottle.

After socking it to get the labels off Viva Maya Gold in Hematite was applied all over with a sponge.  Next using resin the dragon embraced cross was poured and set aside to set.   Before adding the resin to the mould Magic Mica was worked around the inside of the mould.  While the piece was still slightly flexible it was taken out of the mould and pressed around the bottle.

For the other side of the bottle a Tando stencil as held in place and Viva Ceramic effect applied.

Have you recycled anything recently or do you have something else to share with us?  If you check the challenge site River of Creativity, you will see it does not have to be spooky!
