Missed Tanda Teaser recently so pleased to have time this week, need to make some Birthday cards perfect opportunity to respond to Wendy's theme of Petals this week.
Plain green card and a mat of pearlised paper edged with the wonderful new Martha Stewart deep edge and corner punch. A small square of some old photo printed vellum in the centre of the mat. Tanda Flowers set 1 dogwood overstamping the main image and randomly stamped around the edge in lightening black, some of the flowers filled with white sakura souffle. Tanda Butterfly set 1 stamped onto the white pearlised paper in green Brilliance and cut out, shaped and used to cover a couple of mistakes! just about 9 more cards to go now!!!
A couple of weeks back, on Lots to do Forum a new swap was set and hosted by Hilda she told us that this week would be a Canvas challenge on Lots to do Blog and asked us to make a canvas and send it to the next person to join the swap. I have received a fabulous canvas from Mommabear aka Alison and Monalise/Sue received this from me. Have not put a link to Sue's blog as she has not been adding to it so not sure if it is still active or not, sorry Sue.
Flat back canvas from hobbycraft, and glimmer mists, lots of GM's. Started with a light one all over getting darker colours out to the edges and then a few more squirts just because! Inkadinkado morphing bird stamped and embossed in blue, then coloured with different types and shades of blue Sakura. Basic grey bare branches stamped and embossed in copper dotted with leaves from the same set. Think it looks better irl but you get the idea.

Nearly the end of February! last ATC challenge at Something completely different for this time round the theme this week is Time. Well had to play with some of the new inks from shopping today!
The base is a clock card, the pocket watch is a Tanda stamp Distress inks 'Shabby Shutters', Nick Bentock Van Dyke Brown and Sapmoss Green. Card inked and then spritzed with Potion No9 to lift and blend the colours, more inks added in corners and edges. Letters stamped in Orange Brilliance, We are Memory Keepers photo anchors hung from kitchen string.
Went to the Make it show at Farnborough today gosh was it busy! Still managed to lose a few £££s and expand the stash! Big surprise only added 2 stamp sets to the collection but lots of inks and my first Marth Stewart punch set, love the double loop effect of this deep edge. Met up with Good friends and generally had a good day!

Firstly thank you for all your kind words and wishes for my first DT effort.
This week at Tuesday Taggers we are sharing the mess we can make when crafting and the results of all that mess. This was surprisingly hard, seems I clean up after myself so keeping some ink on my fingers was quite an ask!
These frames were very popular before Christmas, this is one that I did not get around to 'doing up'. Base coat of Black Gesso, randomly sprayed with GM frozen lake and starfish, black absorbs colour so these can only be seen when the frame is tilted under light. Frame then sprayed with Gold spray and sparkle. When everything dry stamped in gold Claritys Sunburst the centre given a Viva Metallic paint fill, first with my little finger then with a stencil brush and a twist.
Nearly forgot we have a prize this week! a £15 voucher for The Craft Barn good luck.
Do visit the site and see all the lovely work (and mess) the team and guest designers have come up with.
Last week our Manager resigned unexpectedly and left on Friday. He is coming back in to see us on Wednesday giving us a opportunity to see him off properly. This card is for him.
Had a wonderful time on Saturday with Lucy she let me play with her distress ink pads, yes its true have not used these before there is such an array of colours just did not know where to start! The stamp is CI onto glossy card ink applied with cut & dry. Two torn layers overlapped and matted onto plain card stamped with an Artistic Stamper background and then run through the Cuttlebug in an embossing folder. And yes those dragonflies and the sentiment are vellum stickers.

Hilda is being gentle with us over at the Lots to do challenge this week, all we have to do is use a machine in our work, seem to use some machine or other all the time.
Celebration, yesterday I used a great technique of pvc glue and alcohol ink have used it again here and overstamped it with Clarity's new sunburst stamp. Thought it looked like fireworks, the ink was set with a heat gun. The letters for the word celebration were punched with my cassette craft punch. Glass stamped onto acetate and part gilded, a hole was punched with my cropadile and an eyelet set into it the same on the card, making the glass image a tag.
This is ofcourse the last of my Gingersnap swap cards
The other day i shared with you a postcard made for the Gingersnap swap. Gingersnap Yahoo group members are making 4 postcards with a party theme to celebrate the first anniversary of the group. The swap is open until the 15th March and joining the group is easy.
Party Animal, blending inks onto craft mat and card swished around, more blending ink used through sequin waste and on a HOTP swirl. Back ground dogs stamped in versamark brown. Main image stamped and embossed in black then coloured with Pro markers. Ribbon for a ruffle, heart stamped again and cut out as a tag togather with a puppy charm. Twisted wire replace the pompom on the hat. Those of us of a certain age will remember glitter balls in ballrooms we frequented! The one here is a scoope covered with sequins, those old balls were far from perfect and neither is this one! LOL
Hen Party, the girls are a penny black stamp found in the bargain bin! gotta love bargin bins. coloured with Pro markers. Cock is part of a basic gray stamp. Hand writing all my own (sorry).
On more card to share and that is coming next....

Saturday morning and play time! Will not bore you with the details but the past couple of work weeks had been shattering week-ends and getting inky are bright spots and so looked forward to at the moment!
Something Completely Different are looking for ATCs during February and the theme this week is keys. Perfect opportunity to use a stampbug set, the melt pot and a little metal + a new technique from Jennie at Artistic Stamper
Spread pvc glue onto base card and drop Alcohol ink into while wet, the ink spreads in the glue giving a wonderful back ground. For this atc I made the glue quite thick and lumpy. Mean while some multi-coloured UTEE heating in the melt pot on a piece of heat resist, non stick craft mat. Stampbug key stamped onto metal and cut out, matching stampbug lock over quote coated with black stayzon, molton UTEE pulled out of pot stamp placed in it (face down) and left to cool. Both key and UTEE attached to atc.
Off out this afternoon to meet a new friend the talented Lucy Edmondson we are going to play in her craft room with her toys, watch this space.

Just starting its second week at Gingersnaps is the lace/fibre challenge looking for work incorporting either or both of these. For Gingersnap members (& it is very easy to join) there is a postcard swap running with the theme of party to celebrate Gingersnaps 1st anniversary, the paper anniversary how apt.
My postcard has a CI background paper, overlaid with a metal mask in TSS run through the bigshot with the random diamond folder. Some of the colour coating was removed with pink alcohol ink. Lace and lacy trimming have been glued top and bottom and then coloured pink with GM. Altered glue has been added to accent one eye and lots of gems added for bling. A little pink feather to finish off. Happy Birthday Gingersnaps.
With the shape and the angle of the picture the mask looks like pantaloons and not a mask at all LOL, but they would look a bit odd if you tried to wear some like these, much better as a mask!

Good morning, its Tuesday! and that means a new Tuesday Taggers challenge. With three new DT members including yours truely and six fabulous guest designers there is a lot of wonderful work to inspire you, so please come on over & join in the fun. The theme this week is Clocks/Time, thought this canvas panel would be a great retirement piece, someonw now released from the ties of time.
Memory Mists in yellow, orange and red. Stampin' up clock and cogs with the numbers omitted on the clock face, the hands of the clock have been glittered. Viva Terra paste bottom right and Viva Ferro on the left side both of these and the edges of the canvas dabbed with Cosmic Shimmer blue and green paint. All the numbers you would expect to see on the clock face have been punched out in gold and silver card and represent the numbers slipping down into the terra paste. An old wrist watch provided the little watch face and the mechanism stuck in the terra paste. The watch face has been attached to a set of wooden wings and given outsize hands from Tattered Angles.
This is also my entry for the Gingersnaps Random Readhead - Numbers challenge.

For February Something Completely Different are looking at ATCs, there will be a swap at the end of the month for peeps who join in all four weeks. This week the theme is Wings, set by the fabulous Melody
Over on Lots to do the theme is Love is in the air.
There is a romance about butterflies, think its their delicate beauty as they seem to quickly flit away. The butterfly stamp is elusive images, part of the Craft Stamper subscription gift this month, stamped and embossed with Cosmic shimmer. Last months cover stamp, to be seen all over blogland this week, stamped with Stampin' up blue. Butterfly coloured with sakura which is also used in touches on the heart stamp. Vellum butterfly given a gem head another used for the birds eye to add a liitle bling.
Hilda is hosting a tag swap on the Lots to do forum. We make 5 tags and send them to her. Two of my tags have been here before the other three are:
Party dog, stamped and embossed in black and coloured with Promarkers, red and gold cord seemed the most fitting tie for this one.
Papercrafting cat stamped onto embossed 'in my minds eye' and again on smooth patterned paper, the trees cut out and stuck on top. The pair cut out and stuck onto plain card, most of the image cut out again with just a top to make tag topper.
Bunch of grapes, stamped and embossed with cosmic shimmer. Two different ProMarkers used to colour in the image in layers for shading. Green eyelet and green ribbon. Perfect for the gift of a bottle of white.

'Thanks to all of you for your kind words regarding my card. Yes, I found comfort in it and the sentiments expressed. Please be assured I am at peace with my decision, which was not that hard to make, as the quality of one's life is more important, than the quantity. Just like a shop bought card pales into insignificance compared to the thought, time and love put into this card, made especially for me. Much love to you Zoe - your friend Caroline XX'

Well its that week and if your romantic card is a cute bear clutching a heart shaped cushion then this card will not do it for you. but then this card is not for a lover. Wild China is on TV today and there was this perfect shot of cranes against a sun rise as soon as I saw it the card came togather in my head. One of my closest friends has cancer, she has decided not to have a second course of chimo I respect her decision and offer only love and support, this card is for her.
Sue knowing that not all of us have 'significent other halves' set the Tanda Teaser as a card for a loved one. Gingersnaps are also looking for Romantic cards this week hopefully they and you will understand that romance the is behind this card.
Tanda cranes stamped embossed and masked. Tanda sunrise stamped and emobssed, with crane mask in place card brayered with big & juicy 'Spice'. Mask removed and brayer run over whole card again. Cranes then over coloured with Promarkers and Tanda Oriential grassed stamped in green at edges. Using some canvas left over from yesterday TH 'Listen to your Heart' stamped and embossed, Alchol ink dabbed over the sentiment. Little corner punch to finish off.
Some visitors asked about yesterdays background. As you can see it is now the cover for a note book. Its a friend's birthday soon (not Shiaron this time) and this is for her hope she will not mind that it is published before she gets it. The idea came for a visit to Staples looking for something got work. They stock the beautifully bound Journals that are available recently admiring and stroking one of them it dawned on me that I could make a cover, so yesterday I did.

Lots to do is all about making your own backgrounds. More mucking about with canvas and GM and random stamping all part of something I'm making for someone. All the GM I use needs a fair bit of mopping up, shame to waste all that colour so I save the kitchen towels and use them when and as.... Well there has to be some purpose to tidying up.
What a week, it is one of those busy but boring times at work just now not the sort of time to come home and craft in other words boring. What is possible at times like this going on imaginative journeys and there have been a lot of those and will be more over the next few weeks. This is the result of some of those ruminations.
This year I have been following Tuesday Taggers having found them over the holidays. The challenge is set on a Tuesday so with no time or energy to make a response during the week there has been ample opportunity to design it in my head. No i try not to look in there to often either.
Teddy has a Teddy both are old Anita's stamps, little Ted being stamped on shrink plastic sakura'd cut out and shrunk. Big Ted is stamped onto paper canvas in black and partially embossed in gold, paws coloured with sakura. A mask was made to cover ted and the rest of the torn and frayed canvas sprayed with GM. The frame of the mask (the negative) covered that and Big Ted received his own coat of GM. the outline and limb lines were then marked with black pen and a bit of shadow added. Little Ted was then fixed to Big Ted's knee. Papermania mats mounted on brown card, a 'We are memory keepers' metal tag frames the message, a wish that who ever gets this cards Has fun.
